BioBubble recently gave me the opportunity to choose a habitat for review and let me tell you I had the hardest time deciding because they are all so neat. There are several styles of habitats available which are all customizable to fit your pet's needs.
I decided to go with the BioBubble Aquatic since I have a lot of experience with fish. I had been in the market for a small aquarium but it seems like you always see the same ones in the store. You choose from a cube, rectangle, or a triangle shape which all have several blind spots and hard to clean corners. The BioBubble Aquatic uses a unique dome shape which allows for an amazing 360° viewing space. Look in from the front, sides, back, or top so you never miss out on what your fish is up to.

I made sure to set up my tank and stabilize the water and environment before adding the fish. This is a very important step and should always be followed when setting up any new aquarium.
I purchased my Betta fish and all the plastic plants at Walmart. I would have loved to have used real plants but unfortunately I couldn't find any to buy locally at the time. Good news though, the new town we just moved to has a couple of nice pet stores so I should be able to upgrade to some real plants in the near future.
The first thing people always ask me when they see the aquarium for the first time is... how do you get inside? And that is a very good question indeed. I am always happy to show people how cool and easy it is to get inside thanks to the expandable sleeve design.
There are two easy to squeeze release latches on opposite sides of the aquarium that are squeezed together at the same time to open the expandable sleeve. The process is amazingly quick and simple. I can have the sleeve expanded and the dome off less than two minutes and back together just as fast.
Once the sleeve is in it's open and expanded position and only then will the four safety latches open to release the seal of the dome top so it can be removed. Being able to remove the dome top means you have full access to the inside of your aquarium for cleaning, arranging plants, etc. without ever having to drain any water.
Although it's overlooked by all the cool looking features, the internal filtration and aeration system must be noted because it really is the workhorse behind the scenes that is keeping the aquarium healthy and clean. The pump circulates and filters up to 60 gallons of water per hour through fine mesh media and is designed to provide residual heat to maintain comfortable temperatures for a wide variety of freshwater and saltwater fish.
The filtration unit has built in airflow channels so vital airflow can be released directly into the aquarium or connected to a variety of air driven ornaments.
The CapLite is available in White LED or Blue UV LED. LED's are known for their long life, cooler temperatures, and higher energy efficiency. I have the White LED which illuminates the whole tank beautifully. It's also great to know that the LED's are interchangeable so if I decide I want to switch things up I could mix and match bulbs. Bulb colors include bright white, blue/white combo, green/white combo, red/white combo and ultraviolet.
Any BioBubble habitat would be an excellent holiday gift this year for people of all ages. The quality of materials is so far above any other aquarium I have owned. The thick plastic outer and safety features as well as the stability of the aquarium make it perfect to have around children or other pets. You don't have to worry about it knocking over or spilling which can be a big concern when thinking about purchasing a pet.
I just have to leave you with this peek at the WonderBubble which I almost chose for review but didn't at the time due to the lack of a decent pet store nearby for plants and rocks. Now that we have moved and I have seen how awesome the BioBubble Aquatic is, the WonderBubble is on my wishlist. Although I have loads of experience with fish and plants I have yet to ever put them together. I would love to try that out next and see how they thrive together.
